CANADA are among several countries who have confirmed participation for the Langkawi International Lawn Bowls Championships at the Langkawi Sports Complex on Oct 10-15.
Kedah Lawn Bowls Association secretary Datuk Shukri Ahmad said Canada had confirmed their entry in a letter.
"Canada's participation will be a big boost in our efforts to attract about 60 local and foreign teams for the championships," Shukri said in Langkawi yesterday.
He added that Hong Kong, Brunei, Singapore and the Philippines had also confirmed their entries together with a number of local teams.
The championships is jointly organised by Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (Lada), Malaysian Lawn Bowls Federation and the Kedah Lawn Bowls Association. Bernama
