AZLAN Shah Kamaruzaman does not expect an easy outing in the third leg of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cub Prix in Kangar this weekend, especially in view of the reconfigured Utama Stadium track which will now run counter-clockwise instead of the previous clockwise racing direction.
Featuring six left corners and two right corners, the track now runs 949m in length compared to the 940.8m last season and will be considered as a new track in the Cub Prix calendar -- meaning all previous records will no longer apply.
Despite not knowing what challenges await, CP130 rider Azlan of Harian Metro Y-TEQ SCK Honda Racing intends to bring his good form to Kangar following a strong start to the season after coming in second in Batu Kawan (Round 1) and winning Round 2 (Terengganu).
In addition, the birth of his son, Aaryan Shah last Tuesday has Azlan in high spirits.
"Kangar will be tricky for everyone. In past seasons, a lot of riders found it technical but we got used to it. But now with the new layout, it's pretty much back to square one," he said.
