CUB PRIX: Kiyonari bags a double

RYUICHI Kiyonari chalked up a double in the SuperSports 600cc class in Round 2 of the Petronas Road Racing Championship at Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia yesterday.

The Musashi Boon Siew Honda Racing star had a fairly smooth outing in Race 1, coming in first in a time of 24:17.001s while Malaysia's Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman was second in 24:17.515s.

Defending champion Katsuaki Fujiwara of Manual Tech Beet Kawasaki Racing, was third in 24:19.476s.

Kiyonari had another fruitful outcome in Race 2, finishing the race in 24:20.068s, ahead of Fujiwara (24:26.873s) and Mohd Zamri Baba (24:26.877s) of Petronas Hong Leong Yamaha.

Kiyonari said: "I'm very happy to win here in Indonesia. The race was very hard and I'm not so familiar with this circuit."
