MOHD Emir Firdaus Hasan and Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi went to Japan with a title to defend, and they will return with everything intact.

They retained the prestigious Coca-Cola Zero Suzuka 8-Hour Endurance Road Race title yesterday.

The Boon Siew Honda Racing Malaysia riders completed 100 laps with a total time of 4:01:33.002s with five pit-ins, 8.655 seconds. Iwata Racing Family, represented by Shotaro Ogura and Seiji Tarumi, were second with 4:01:41.657s. Third were Koichi Endo and Yuki Mimino of Club Plus One, 4:02:12.789s.

Emir said: "Words can't express how happy we are to win the 4-hour title again!"

Zaqhwan said: "We are still quite young riding the 600cc machines. But this lifts my fighting spirit and I hope to bring this momentum to Zhuhai next weekend for the third leg of the ARRC."
