Eyeing the perfect wedding gift

PLAYING in the FA Cup final would be the perfect wedding gift for Terengganu player Ismail Faruqi Ashaari who married Mardiana Rosni on Friday.

The midfielder who missed the semi-final first-leg against Sime Darby FC in Kuala Terengganu due to suspension, said Terengganu could still overcome the 2-1 deficit at Selayang Stadium in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.

"Judging from our 6-2 win over Song Lam Nghe An in the AFC Cup last week, we have every chance of scoring two goals against Sime Darby and despite my just-married status, I want to be on the field to help the team win," he said when met after training yesterday.

Ismail's confidence is also shared by coach Mat Zan Mat Aris who said the spot in the final is Terengganu's to lose.

"It is not that we do not think highly of Sime Darby but this game on Tuesday (tomorrow) is the most important match for us here in the state.

"We are the defending champions and chances are, our fans will never understand if we fail to reach the FA Cup final," he said.
