MANY of the stars who played in the recent Euro 2012 were unsighted as Arsenal started their summer training, but Arsene Wenger has promised that all will be on the flight to Kuala Lumpur for the team's Far East Tour.
Among those taking a well-deserved break are Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and new signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
Wenger, who will be bringing his charges to Malaysia for the third time, said that with no injury concerns, fans can expect a star-studded line-up when the Gunners take on a Malaysian XI at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil on Tuesday.
"The Malaysian fans are a pretty lucky bunch, I can say that much," Wenger said. "Not only will they be able to catch all their favourite players in action, they will also be the first in the world to watch our new signings Podolski and Giroud take to the pitch in the Arsenal jersey."
Wenger added that he is personally looking forward to the trip, as he claims the hospitality and treatment Arsenal received on previous visits have always been great.
"I like talking to fans there and Malaysians in general. They are not only passionate about the club, but they are very knowledgeable about football as well, especially the English Premier League. I'm sure this is going to be another great tour."
Tickets for the match are priced at RM58, RM68, RM108 and limited VIP tickets at RM388. Tickets are available at all Ticketpro outlets nationwide, Ticketpro hotline 03-7880-7999 and www.ticketpro.com.my.
