NATIONAL team coach Datuk K. Rajagobal has, once again, excluded his best players who are involved in the FA Cup semi-finals and S-League, for the 'A' international friendly against Sri Lanka on April 28 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
It will be Malaysia's second international friendly of the year since their 1-1 draw with the Philippines on Feb 28.
Rajagobal did not include players from Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu and also those representing Young Tigers in the S-League in his 21-member squad.
The two-leg FA Cup semi-finals are scheduled for April 21 and May 1.
Despite being the regional champions in both senior and Under-23 levels, Malaysia have been finding it tough to get friendly matches of late.
Rajagobal's side, however, will be hoping to end their eight-match winless run against Sri Lanka, who are ranked 34 rungs below Malaysia at 186.
"It is very difficult to play good teams but we are trying our best to get quality matches. I will once again test new and fringe players against Sri Lanka as I want to get the right mix for the AFF Cup," said Rajagobal yesterday. Malaysia's other confirmed international is the two-leg tie against Singapore on June 8 and 12.
