WAN Zack Haikal Wan Noor and Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria, both members of the Young Tigers squad playing in the S-League, are on the verge of plying their trade in Japan following a successful trial with FC Ryukyu.

The duo, who caught the eye of talent agency, Japan Dream FA during last year's Asian Zone Olympic Qualifying match between Malaysia and Japan, impressed the coach of Okinawa-based Japan Football League (Division Three) outfit, Takeo Matsuda, during the 19-day trial, which ended on Sunday.

According to Matsuda on the club's official website, Wan Zack and Wan Zaharulnizam did well in the trial but the coach did not elaborate on the club's interest to sign them.

Tigers coach Ong Kim Swee said the Japanese club will make a decision soon.

"According to the club, they were impressive. It sounds like the club are keen to sign them. We will be notified in the next few days," said Kim Swee.

Wan Zack, 21, made his debut for the national senior team against the Philippines early this year and the winger is best remembered for scoring a brace in Malaysia's 6-0 win over Sri Lanka in April.

As for Wan Zaharulnizam, the 21-year-old was a member of last year's Sea Games winning squad.
