FELDA United are wary of a backlash from a LionsXII side licking their wounds after a humbling 3-0 defeat to Kelantan on Friday when the two teams meet in a Super League match at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca today.
Coach E. Elavarasan's side also suffered disappointment on Friday when they lost 1-0 to Sabah in Kota Kinabalu which ended a three-match winning run for the Kuala Lumpur FA-affiliated club.
But having not conceded a goal at the Hang Jebat Stadium in their last four outings, Felda will not be rolling over for the Singaporeans, who arrive after losing their last two away games and seeing their lead over Kelantan shrink to two points having played three games more.
"We expect a tough game but we have a good record at home and hope to use that to our advantage," said Elavarasan.
"It won't be an easy task to beat them because Singapore will be going all out after losing to Kelantan. We will give it our best and try to maintain our recent good home record."
LionsXII won 3-1 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in their first meeting earlier this season and Felda's task has been made more difficult without injured duo Ahmad Fakri Saarani and Hardi Jaafar.
"I don't think Fakri and Hardi will be able to play. Fakri has a knee problem and it looks like he's not fully recovered.
"We won't have Hardi either. But we should be able to cope and despite losing to Sabah, I thought we played well there. It was just one of those games where either side could have won," said Elavarasan.
A win for Felda would lift them out of the relegation playoff zone as two other teams also in danger of relegation -- Johor FC and PKNS -- go head-to-head in Pasir Gudang.
Selangor will attempt to close the gap on the leading duo when they face Negri Sembilan in Shah Alam while Kedah try to put their FA Cup disappointment behind them against T-Team in Alor Star.
Kelantan are involved in the AFC Cup and host Myanmar's Ayeyawady United in Kota Baru where a draw would be enough to secure top spot in Group H and advance to the second round where they could meet derby rivals Terengganu.
