    TYING THE KNOT:There will be 300 booths featuring the latest trends and packages at Malaysia Wedding Expo 2012

    MAWEX Sdn Bhd is holding the  Malaysia Wedding Expo 2012 at Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC) from Oct 19 to 21.

    The event, which will have the theme "1 Cinta, 1 Hati, 1 Destinasi, 1 Malaysia, 1 Asia", will host  exhibitors from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.

    The 300 booths will showcase the latest wedding trends, wedding packages, beauty products, catering services, hotel packages, honeymoon packages, photography services and more.

    "Couples who have plans to tie the knot will find the expo helpful as it offers a complete range of products and services," said Mawex chairman Dr Hassan Jamil.

    "They will have the chance to meet many professional wedding planners and other wedding service providers.

    "The wedding expo is also a platform to showcase our wedding culture to  tourists.

    "With the presence of our international guests from Singapore and Indonesia, visitors will have a unique experience as they will be able to take a closer look at different wedding cultures from our neighbouring countries," he said.

    Mawex  has appointed  celebrity Qazem Noor as the expo's ambassador.

    "We will hold a real wedding ceremony for Qazem and his bride-to-be at the expo," said Dr Hassan.

    "We are also planning to bring other couples, Chinese and Indian, to join him for the wedding reception.

    "This is a historic milestone as we bring the 1Malaysia concept to the event.

    "Their weddings will be  sponsored by Mawex."

    Motivational speaker Datuk Dr Mohd Fadzilah Kamsah will be giving  talks on pre-marriage and post-marriage topics.

    Singer Jeff Timmons of the 1990s  band, 98 Degrees, will be making a special appearance at the expo.

    Also present at the press conference were Women, Family and Community Development Ministry political secretary   Datuk Suhaimi Ibrahim, Alux's Wedding Organiser founder Aries Ismullah Ardiansyah from Indonesia and Enchanted Wedding founder Ejay Reyzal from Singapore.

    The expo is supported by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry and the Tourism Ministry.
