NICE MOVE:It is all-things-new at Pangsapuri Indah Court, thanks to a directive from the Subang Jaya Municipal Council
ONE look at Pangsapuri Indah Court in Subang Indah and the fencing structure that surrounds it, people would think that the five-storey walk-up flats was newly built.
In fact, Pangsapuri Indah Court turns 20 this year and it was given an upgrade of sorts, from a fresh coat of paint, perimeter fencing, awning, tarred road, clothing lines, gutter, new corridor lamps and more by developer Jurus Positif Sdn Bhd.
Some 140 families living there are smiling ear to ear with the new fixtures as it is the first upgrading it has received since they moved in back in 1992.
Jurus Positif, a subsidiary of Dynastic Lion Sdn Bhd, embarked on the upgrading of Pangsapuri Indah Court as directed by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council.
Upgrading works began a year ago and is almost complete. Residents there are also eagerly waiting for the building of a five-storey car park facility as well as a community hall within its compound.
Pangsapuri Indah Court Residents' Association chairman Abu Noh Md Soom said in 1992, the developer managed the flats for a mere eight months.
"Then onwards, the RA on its own initiative, took over and started collecting RM10 from each unit for rubbish collection and maintenance of lights in corridors.
"Luckily, all the residents here have been cooperative and all has been smooth. With the upgrading works, living here has become more comfortable. We have to thank our zone councillor Chia Yew Ken and Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh for extending their assistance whenever we needed it," he said.
Chia, who is Zone 2 councillor and Residents Committee, also presented a 24-litre leach bin to the residents.
Yeoh said the council had told Jurus Positif to upgrade the flats after it bought the plot of land next to the flats.
The land, measuring 1.6ha to 2ha, also encompasses the flats.
"The council had asked that the developer upgrade and provide facilities for the flats so that paper works to sub-divide the land and the issuance of strata titles can proceed. Residents are now waiting for that," she said.
She said this during a luncheon and pre-Ramadan get together at the flats car park recently.
The residents there, she said, had requested for the simple gathering before the holy month.
Yeoh had allocated RM3,000 for the event.
