KUALA LUMPUR: There was an international touch to the recent inauguration of Chan Hoi as District 308 B-1 Malaysia Governor of the Lions Clubs.

Lions Clubs International president Wayne A. Madden and wife, Linda, made a special trip from their homeland in the United States to grace the event with their presence.

The guests-of-honour also witnessed the installation of Chan Hoi's cabinet officers.

More than 600 Lions members nationwide and overseas attended the event, which also saw the presentation of tokens to those who have donated to the Melvin Jones Foundation.

Chan Hoi, 61, a retired  timber merchant,  has been a Lion for 29 years. His wife, Anne Hoo, is also a Lion member  and they have five children and three grandchildren.
