A hand for PAWS and SPCA

KUALA LUMPUR: Driven by the need to help the less fortunate, a group of friends formed The Insatiables to organise events and collect funds for worthy causes.

Five months down the line, they had, through workshops, raised RM13,000 of which RM10,000 was recently donated to Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and PAWS Animal Welfare Society.

Project leader Rosnah Abdullah said when they decided to help the animals as a way of giving back to society.

"Places like orphanages and old folk's homes get help from many places. We wanted our contribution to go towards the cause that needed it most," she said.

She said the RM3,000 leftover would go towards funding more activities such as culinary and beading workshops that had helped them to raise money.

"We will continue with our efforts, and with the help of other organisations that have stepped up to join us, we hope to do more," she said.

The Insatiables handed over a cheque of RM5,000 each to SPCA and PAWS.

Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye accepted the cheque on behalf of SPCA.
