SUBANG JAYA: Over 65 orphans from Al Hidayah Care Centre in Keramat Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, were given the opportunity to break fast at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur recently.

The orphans were aged  between 2 months and 17 years.

There was an  Al-Quran recital by Firdaus Sulaiman, 8, to mark the breaking of fast.

The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur general manager, Ian  Hurst said this is part of the hotel's way to give back to the society.

"Watching the smiles  on these children's faces are worth much more than any material gifts," said Hurst.

Throughout the night, the young guests were entertained by a nasyid group.

Fariza Adlina Hasbullah, 10, said she was grateful for the delicious dinner.

"I have 15 siblings and I am the 12th, so back home, we hardly get to eat all these delicious food," said Fariza.

Ameer Hamzah Hashim, 13, said the event was a wonderful way for him to enjoy good food and the company of his friends.

The children also received goodie bags from the hotel.

Present at the event were  Peremba Bhd managing director Datuk Abu Bakar Mohd Nor and Peremba board of director Tan Sri Mohd Desa Pachi.
