SEBERANG JAYA: Sunway Carnival Mall will host the inaugural 'Cycling for Charity 2012' event at the mall's west entrance in Pusat Bandar Seberang Jaya on Saturday.

The event is organised by Sunway Carnival Mall,   the title sponsor, with E-Forest Cycling Team the technical advisers, and Leo Club of Penang Metropolitan (Omega) as the co-organiser.

The 20km charity cycling event is opened to all cycling enthusiasts above the age of 13 years -- the organisers are encouraging family participation -- with a safety condition of 'No Helmet No Ride'.

State Youth and Sports, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Lydia Ong Kok Fooi said this was not a competitive race but a fun ride, adding that the organisers were targeting  1,000 cyclists.

She said all entry fees will be channelled to the Yee Ran Jing Sheh Handicapped Children Home in Bukit Mertajam.
