REDUCE BURDEN:Needy residents of Flat Sentul Utara were picked to receive goodie bags filled with groceries

OVER 150 residents of Flat Sentul Utara recently attended a breaking of fast event with People's Progressive Party (PPP) Federal Territories chief Datuk A. Chandrakumanan who distributed Hari Raya food aid in goodie bags to over 100 residents. The recipients were selected by the flat's residents association (RA).

"We reached out to needy residents such as single mothers and also low-income residents to present them with  groceries for the upcoming festive celebration," said Chandrakumanan.

Apart from the groceries, he also handed out duit raya to the children in the area.

"I am delighted to receive the groceries as it will help to lessen my burden for the Raya'  celebration," said  Mohd Azman Mahidin,  a resident for 21 years.

A single mother, Pauline Kumari, 37, who has three sons, said the aid was  truly a 1Malaysia gesture.

"I think everyone should celebrate all the festive seasons," said Pauline.
