Glitz and glamour galore at The Curve

GLITTERING GALA:Designer labels dazzle with their latest collections at the annual Run-A-Way fashion show inspired by the City of Lights

IT was an evening of glitz and glamour as fashion took centre stage at The Curve's Fashion Week gala night held recently.

Seventeen labels such as B-ha Lingerie, Binwani's, Bratpack, Debenhams, Elements, Elle, Esprit, Fit & Match, Focus Point, Girls, Kitschen, Marry Merry, Metrojaya, Nichii, Obermain, T-Joue and Uluwatu  showcased their latest collections.

The Curve centre manager, Jazmi Kamarudin, said the Run-A-Way fashion show is a yearly event held by the upmarket mall.

"We hoped the trends and fashion featured today will encourage shoppers to discover new fashion styles," said Jazmi.

Fashionistas and local celebrities including Thanuja Ananthan, Peter Davis and Stephanie Chai were out in full force, dressed to rock the runway.

With the charm of iconic fashion capital Paris as the inspiration for the setting, The Curve treated guests to piece by piece of its fashion brands, both local and international.

Ranging from dazzling evening outfits and ready-to-wear clothing lines and not forgetting accessories and also shoes.

Guest were enchanted by the Parisian chic of this year's Fashion Week's Run-A-Way fashion theme, which featured the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop.

Model, actress and also fashion columnist Stephanie Chai was the host for the  night, and she was accompanied by performances from Tony Eusoff and electropop music artiste ZE! who kept the crowd alive.

Guests were also wowed by thrilling dance moves performed by Fix, the first runner-up of Astro Battleground 2011.

In between the catwalks, there were also lucky draw prizes given out to lucky media members and other guests.

A Run-A-Way Fashion Contest was also held in conjunction with the week-long event. The contest, which kicked off on April 21 and lasted  a month, required participants to mix and match their favourite apparel and also describe their fashion style in 20 words or less.
