CELEBRATING 30 YEARS:Slogan created for Kotra Pharma contest wins 76-year-old the RM30,000 grand prize

AHMAD Lotfi Abdul Rahman, 76, was recently named the grand prize winner of Kotra Pharma (M) Sdn Bhd's Health is Wealth contest.

Lotfi said he did not expect the three-word slogan he had created to "best describe the product" to win him the grand prize of RM30,000.

"I've never won anything big before, so I was really lucky to have won the weekly prize and the grand prize as well," said the retired teacher.

Lotfi said the money would be going towards his planned home renovations.

"I need to fix the wall as well as the leaking roof of my house, which has been my family home for more than 40 years," he said.

The cheque was presented by Kotra Pharma general manager, Ricky Ngiau.

The contest, which ran for 13 weeks from Oct 31 to Jan 31, received thousands of entries.

"There was encouraging response to the contest, which also offered RM800 as weekly prizes," said Ngiau.

Kotra Pharma managing director, Jimmy Piong, said the RM30,000 grand prize represented 30 years of Kotra Pharma's existence in the pharmaceutical market in Malaysia.

"We have grown from strength to strength over the years, and have now penetrated 28 countries around the world," said Piong.
