CARING CORPORATION:Nestle aims to raise RM100,000 for underprivileged

NESTLE Malaysia recently launched its "Jalinan Kasih Bersama Nestle -- Berbelanja Sambil Beribadah" nationwide campaign.

The two-month campaign, which begins this Sunday, will  indirectly engage Nestle's consumers in helping the underprivileged  during Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Nestle Products Sdn Bhd milk business unit executive director Ho Hau Chieh said target was  to raise at least RM100,000.

"This is a significant milestone to renew Nestle's pledge to continue nourishing future generations.

He said  Nestle was also celebrating its 100 years in Malaysia.

He said Nestle was donating 10 sen for every RM10 worth of Nestle products sold to six homes.

Nestle breakfast cereals, Nestum, Maggi mixes, Milo Sejuk, Nestea, Nestle drinks and Nestle ice cream are among the products that consumers can buy to participate in the campaign.

"I am confident that we will hit the target as many consumers will buy our products for the coming festivities," said Ho.

Nestle hopes to hand  out the cash donation to  Selangor and Federal Territory Association for the Mentally Handicapped, Shelter Home for Children, Rumah Permata Kasih Penang, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Johor, Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan and Pertubuhan Anak-anak Yatim Sarawak in September.

"These homes can buy school uniforms, books, stationery, medical equipment and  furniture with the money," he added.
