Hoteliers visit Balai Berita

KUALA LUMPUR:About 50 members of the Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH) visited Balai Berita recently to strengthen relationship with The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) group and learn more about the functions of the media.

The visitors were shown  a video presentation of the newspaper processes, the revamp of  New Straits Times (NST) and Berita Harian and NSTP digital newspaper.
   MAH chief executive officer Reginald T. Pereira said it was the group’s first visit to  Balai Berita.
    “The visit gave us the opportunity to get close with Malaysia’s oldest and biggest newspaper publisher as well as to know how newspapers are produced.
  “It is important to have a good working relationship with the media as they are the source of information.
“Besides offering accommodation, we at the hotel industry also strive to serve our guests with the latest information by providing them with various newspapers ” said Pereira.
   The MAH group later  toured  the  NST, Berita Harian  and Harian Metro ’s newsrooms. Also present were NSTP Finance general manager Abdul Hamid Abdullah, NSTP Marketing general manager Putri Shireen Syed Othman and NSTP Circulation Management general manager Mohd Azrai Ariffin.
