AFFORDABLE MENU:Courses from Spice@Furama’s Western and Asian set dinners can be mixed and matched
THOSE looking for an affordable set dinner in a place with pleasant ambiance will love Spice@Furama. Here, a four-course Western or Asian dinner set is priced at just RM38++ per pax.
With three options for each course, guests will be spoilt for choice.
Choices for the starter course in the Western set are tomato mozarella salad, fried sweet peppers with herbs vinaigrette and French beans with cheese and tossed walnut.
The blend of mozzarella's creaminess and tomato's sweet-and-sourish taste is a delight to the tastebuds, making the tomato mozarella salad one of the most-ordered starters on the menu.
The fried sweet peppers with herbs vinaigrette and French beans with cheese and tossed walnut are also worth trying.
Sous chef Haslinda Nawi named the wild mushroom as her favourite among the soup selections which include pumpkin and sweet potato soup and potato leek soup.
"Although it is a common menu, each chef has a personal touch to add," she said, explaining that the thickness of the mushroom soup comes from the potato which adds more taste to her version of the soup.
For the main course, guests can go vegetarian with pasta Farrotto Primavera, choose the rolled chicken breast and green vegetables with mushroom sauce, or try the pan-seared dory fish with creamy saffron sauce.
Dessert choices are Italian traditional cake, rustic polenta cake and apple oats bran cupcake.
"The Italian traditional cake or tiramisu is actually everyone's favourite, while the corn-based rustic polenta cake is for those who love corn," said Haslinda.
The Asian set features Malaysian favourites, which should appeal to both locals and foreigners who want a taste of local food.
The choices for starters are crispy squid salad with lemon vinaigrette, egg roll popiah and Malaysian pickle salad.
The soup choices are white raddish, vegetable with chicken meatballs and spicy mutton potato soup.
The Asian main courses feature either fish, chicken or beef. The steamed rice with fried fish Nyonya-style and garlic kangkung will appeal to diners with desire for Peranakan cuisine.
The steamed rice, homemade ginger chicken and stir-fried baby kailan, on the other hand, is typically Chinese.
Those who prefer a stronger taste will go for the briyani rice, braised beef and mixed vegetables in oyster sauce.
Choices for the Asian desserts include sago gula Melaka, red bean in coconut milk and banana in coconut milk.
Although the Western and Asian menus are presented separately, diners can still choose to mix and match choices from both.
Spice@Furama opens Mondays through Thursdays and the dinner sets are available from 6pm to 11pm.
