THE New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd reporters are welcome to join  the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) search and rescue missions, said its deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Ahmad Puzi Abdul Kahar during the agency's visit to Balai Berita yesterday.

"We hope today's meeting will result in another fruitful venture for both parties.

"The agency's goal is to be transparent to the public and NSTP have been assisting us with that over the years," he added.

The visit started off with a  dialogue session between NSTP senior editorial personnel headed by NSTP group managing editor Abdul Jalil Hamid and the MMEA senior officers led by Ahmad Puzi.

MMEA was also represented by  deputy managing director Samsuni Mohd Nor and 10 other senior officers.

The group was later given a tour of the Berita Harian  and Harian Metro newsrooms.

Present were New Straits Times group editor Datuk Syed Nadzri Syed Harun, Harian Metro group editor Datuk Mustapa Omar, its  deputy group editor Abdul Ghafar Ismail, Berita Harian deputy group editor Mafar Ali and NSTP director of information technology Dr Rodaina Ibrahim.
