SOME 1,500 music lovers attended the Malaysian Gospel Music Nite at the Full Gospel Church in Taman Johor Jaya last month.

It was MGM’s second annual showcase, with the first held at Wisma Eagles in Subang Jaya last year.

The event saw the launch of the Adore album, a compilation of some of the best local gospel songs.

There were four workshops, namely vocal training by Patrick Leong, music arrangement by Andrew Tan and Anson Ong, piano skills by Raymond Tan and on lead guitar by Kelvyn Yeang.

Performers included Tabitha Kong, Patrick Leong, GT Lim, Yeang, Jenny Liew, Geoffrey Woo, Gabby Tham, Joseph Ngu as well as musicians from the Full Gospel Church, Johor Baru and Sand, Penang.

MGM is a fellowship of Christian artistes, musicians, songwriters and producers who mentor local songwriters in writing and recording songs and conduct workshops and seminars to encourage churches to use local songs in their services. Details at www.mgm.com.my.
