SECURITY MEASURE:PPR Lembah Subang and PPR Kota Damansara will get CCTVs to help curb vandalism

THE Petaling Jaya City Council will soon install CCTVs at PPR Lembah Subang and PPR Kota Damansara to curb vandalism.

Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman said: "We might install CCTVs  inside and outside the lifts to make sure the lifts are not vandalised.

He said this at the launch of the Joint Management Body (JMB) and Management Committee (MC) Seminar at Petaling Jaya Civic Centre.

The mayor added that the council spent RM3 million to address problems related to the lifts and water pumps in both the flats.

Both the PPRs are notorious for their  vandalism problems.

Roslan  said the council is now  in charge of taking care of the facilities at the lifts.

He said beginning this month, the council's six security guards will be keeping a close watch on both the PPRs.

"We have three private security guards placed at each of the PPR in the day time and another three will do the night shift," said the mayor.

Roslan also said the council had engaged  three private lift operators to help upkeep the lifts. The council had also barricaded  the lift's motor room and the water pump area to prevent theft. The PPR flats have about 10,000 occupants.

Residents, who were  present at the seminar, which was held for the second time, were briefed on lift and escalator security management.

Issues pertaining to the Building and Common Property (Management & Maintenance) Act 663 were also discussed.

Petaling Jaya residents who are keen on seeking more information on  JMB and MC, can go to the Commissioner of Building Petaling Jaya City Council, A-1-8, Pusat Perniagaan Section 8, 8 Avenue, Jalan Sungai Jernih 8/1, Petaling Jaya.
