AS many are still enjoying their Chinese New Year festivities, The Federal Kuala Lumpur invites diners to enjoy the three Prosperity set menus at its Mandarin Palace Chinese Restaurant, available until Feb 6.

Prepared by Chinese head chef Lau Weng Seng and team, the Prosperity set menus are available daily for lunch and dinner and are priced at RM688++, RM768++, and RM998++ per table of 10.
Chef Lau, who has been with the Federal Group for the past 22 years, said each Prosperity set menu comes with the dragon fruit yee sang with salmon. He said instead of the normal plum sauce, he has prepared a special sauce made of mango, plum and orange marmalade to give a different zest to the palate.
The first Prosperity menu comprises shark's fin with dried seafood and crab meat, roasted chicken in garlic, steamed snapper ancient-style, baked prawns with pepper & salt, braised dried oyster with black mushroom and bean curd skin, fried glutinous rice wax meat, sweetened sea coconut lily with ginseng root and two varieties of dessert.
The second set (RM768++) comprises shark's fin with bamboo pith and dried scallop, steamed village chicken with kai lan, fried prawns with thick soya sauce, steamed cod fish with fungus and golden needle, stewed dried oyster and sea moss with sea cucumber, fried glutinous rice with wax meat, chilled pomelo and mango with sago and two varieties of dessert.
For the third set (RM998++), diners can sample dishes including braised shark's fin with scallop and prawn meat, steamed red grouper with superior soya sauce, prawns with pumpkin and butter cream, braised sea cucumber and dried oyster with oyster sauce.
Those who dine at Mandarin Palace also stand a chance to win auspicious ang pow of the hotel's cash vouchers worth RM1,888 for the first prize, RM1,118 for the second prize and RM888 for third prize.
All the diners have to do is to complete the contest form together with the receipt (a minimum of RM68++ in a single receipt), count the total number of dragons in the restaurant and write a slogan in no more than 28 words. The correct answer with the best slogan will win the prize.
The Mandarin Palace kitchen has also prepared seven symbolic Lunar New Year claypot dishes for takeaway, available until Feb 6.
