SELAYANG: The Selayang Municipal Council recently celebrated its 15th anniversary by hosting a dinner with the Pop Yeh Yeh theme, a music genre that defines the 1960s era.

The gentlemen came in stripes and checks with tight pants while the ladies sported long vintage dress and traditional kebaya.

The celebration was held at the grand ballroom of the Ideal Convention Centre in Selayang Prima.

Guests-of-honour were Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and his wife Puan Sri Salbiah Tunut.

Also present were state executive councillors Rodziah Ismail and Elizabeth Wong.

On hand to welcome them was council president Datuk Zainal Abidin A'ala.

The highlight of the night was when Khalid,  together with Zainal and other VIPs, blew out the candles on the 5kg anniversary cake.

The night was filled with  Pop Yeh Yeh  music rendered by  artistes such as  Datuk A. Rahman Hassan, Orkes Nirwana and Azizah Mohamad.

Comedian Angah and Mie from Rajalawak had  the guests all in stitches.
