KUALA LUMPUR: Single mothers and supporters of Himalaya We Care -- Be Strong 2012 campaign were serenaded by songstress Salamiah Hassan and Atilia Haron during a charity dinner recently.
About 400 guests attended the dinner held at Topaz Ballroom in One World Hotel in Bandar Utama.
The event was organised by Embun Elit Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of the herbal personal care and supplement products in Malaysia.
The company has championing the single mothers cause in its corporate social responsibility programme since 2009.
The company employed single mothers as well as providing them with on-the-job training, regardless of their paper qualification.
Himalaya Care Pack is also sold nationwide to raise funds for the cause. The beneficiary is the Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Mas Merah, founded by Sharifah Kamariah Syed Ibrahim in 1994.
Present at the dinner were Embun Elit chief executive officer Sue Ong, chief operating officer Marcel Gan, and the personalities involved in an awareness video programme for the campaign. They include Salamiah, Atilia, Deanna Yusoff, Serena C, Linora Low, Chelsia Ng, Yasmin Hani Richardson, Daphne Iking, Ayie Ali, Datuk Yasmin Yusoff, and Selina Yeop Jr.
