PETALING JAYA: The groundbreaking of Studio Lounge, a new themed food and beverage outlet, was held recently at Tropicana City Mall here.
A joint venture between AUM Hospitality and Entertainment and Station One Holdings, the lounge targets young adults and professionals who want a nice place to relax after a long day.
AUM Hospitality and Entertainment general manager, Frank Lim, said the interesting thing about the lounge is the patented self-tap on-demand drinking system.
"It is a unique, innovative and interactive computerised ordering system with a personal tap at each table," he said.
Lim said the system automatically tracks the amount consumed at the table which will offer three brands of beer.
"But it is not only about drinking. Studio Lounge will also introduce the concept of interactive entertainment through its 'open-microphone' sessions," Lim said.
The sessions will allow patrons to choose songs and sing along with a live band. They also can record their performance and bring a DVD home.
Studio Lounge, due to open next month, is expected to offer an environment that is a cross between a pub and a club, minus the noise, said Lim.
Also at the groundbreaking were Guinness Anchor Bhd managing director Charles Ireland and Guinness Anchor Bhd marketing director, Yap Swee Leng.
