BE dazzled by the splendour, beauty and opulence of Marrakesh at Sunway Pyramid this Hari Raya as the shopping mall celebrates with a Moroccan-inspired ambience.
Director of Marketing for Sunway Pyramid, Phang Sau Lian said the shopping mall will be decorated with giant Moroccan lamps.
"In Morocco, colourful lamps are the perfect way to create a unique entrance.
"This year, Sunway Pyramid wants to celebrate the festivities with an international flavour, as well as make the many Middle Eastern tourists who visit Malaysia during the festive season feel at home," she said.
This year's festive celebration at the shopping mall as well as Sunway Resort City (SRC) is themed C'haya Raya Eid Mubarak.
Shoppers will be cast under a spell of a million glimmering lights as the SRC will be lit up with its famous show lights, featuring the desert flower, and Marrakesh-inspired lamps in kaleidoscopic colours.
There will be elephant-shaped lamps, and camels will line the passageways around SRC.
"Camels are said to represent Baraka, or blessings," said Phang.
The street lighting is a major aspect of SRC's festive decor each year, and this Aidilfitri is no exception.
To further enhance the Moroccan ambience at the mall, six dancers in beaded Moroccan costumes will dance at the Concourse Area on weekends and public holidays.
The dance will feature the balancing of trays and a Burmese python.
The mall's friendly mascots, Leo and Leona, will also be making appearances around the mall with the snake to give out shopping vouchers to shoppers.
Sunway Pyramid will be rewarding its shoppers during the festive season. Shoppers who spend more than RM200 in two receipts mall-wide, excluding anchor tenants AEON, Cold Storage and Parkson, will be rewarded with a pack of beautifully designed Raya packets.
Shoppers who spend RM800 and above in a maximum of three receipts will receive a limited edition bracelet thumbdrive in addition to the Raya packets.
Citibank cardholders on the other hand are eligible for the rewards with an expenditure of only RM100 and RM500, respectively.
Shoppers who spend RM200 and above in a single receipt can enter the Mega Sale contest which features a Mazda2 worth RM76,000 as the grand prize, as well as other prizes such as Wah Chan jewellery worth RM51,000 and a Osim uDivine Massage Chair worth RM13,888.
With MasterCard as the official card for the Mega Sale, the cardholders can choose either the Raya limited edition thumbdrive or a Sunway Lagoon All Access ticket as their reward.
