SUBANG JAYA: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) nabbed a 15-year-old school dropout after he put up a notice advertising a loan shark's services in USJ21 here last month.

The teenager from Cheras was detained by  enforcement officers at 11.30am while he was busy sticking the advertisements in the commercial area. They caught the boy as he was about to flee and brought him to the council's headquarters here.

In a statement, the council's corporate communication division said the boy was  paid RM30 to paste the advertisements.

He admitted  boarding a bus to Subang Jaya after getting instructions from the  agent who provided  him with the advertisements.

As the youth is underage, an investigation paper is  being prepared by the council to bring the case to court.

The teenager faces charges under the MPSJ's 2005 Vandalism Bylaws that carries a maximum fine of RM2,000, if proven guilty. The council has also lodged a police report  against the teenager.

The council  said  it would conduct  such operations in Subang Jaya  from time to time to curb illegal advertisements.
