LARGEST:Grand event with the theme ‘The Sky is The Limit’ makes it into the Guinness World Records

MORE than 30,000 blue and white balloons suspended in the air at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country  Resort here made it into the Guinness World Records.

It was the occasion of Zurich Insurance Malaysia Bhd's grand launch, and the record for Largest Suspended Balloon Shape was certified by Guinness World Records adjudicator, Seyda Subasi-Gemici, who flew in to witness the successful creation of the new record.

"In order to set a record, there needed to be more than 20,000 balloons and today, Zurich managed to get over 30,000 balloons in the shape of a Z," said Subasi-Gemici.

About 3,000 employees, agents and their families gathered to enjoy a day of exciting fun-filled activities.

Signifying the theme for the event, "The Sky is The Limit", Zurich executives raised balloons spelling the word Zurich in the air to officiate the event.

Zurich Malaysia chief executive officer,  Chee Cheong, said the world record marked a significant milestone of Zurich's journey in Malaysia.

"We are grateful to celebrate this occasion with our employees and agents who are our greatest assets and the force behind the future of our company," he said.

Guests were treated to a carnival complete with food stalls, activities and performances, including telematches and entertainment by local personalities clowns as well as magicians.

Chee added that Zurich also demonstrated its commitment to the local community by raising funds at the event to support the children and elderly from Rumah Charis.

Guests who made a donation had the chance to release Z-shaped foams into the air, keeping with the theme .

Zurich employee, Che Roshida Abdullah, said she was excited to be part of this new chapter for the insurance company.

"Today, employees and their family members come together to celebrate the grand launch of the company," said Roshida.

Another Zurich staff, Kanageswaran Subramaniam, said  such an event made the employees feel appreciated.
