FIGHTING CRIME: tate police also recorded an 18.61 per cent drop in street crime statistics in the first eight months of the year

STATE police have reported a 9.74 per cent drop in the crime index in the first eight months of this year compared with the corresponding period last year. Johor deputy police chief Datuk Ismail Yatim said the decrease was due to the  hard work put in by police officers and personnel.
“Police are also pleased with the 18.61 per cent drop in street crime statistics  for the same period this year.
“Until August, state police  succeeded in crippling  28 criminal gangs who were involved in vehicle thefts, robberies and also kidnapping,” he said  at the recent monthly  gathering at the state police contingent headquarters.
Ismail presented commendation certificates to two district police chiefs, 48 policemen and two civilians   for their crime fighting efforts.
He reminded the state’s police  to work hard and move with the  times.
“Police personnel need to have a sense of participation, reasoning and efficiency as these are important elements in  enforcing the law.”
