THREE-DAY EVENT: An estimated 50,000 visitors are expected at the IT Fair 2012 in Danga City Mall

SOME 70 retail shops at the Digital Valley of Danga City Mall in Johor Baru will be taking part in the IT Fair 2012 from today to Sunday from 11am to 9pm.

Danga City Mall marketing manager Edwin Tan said the mall is expecting a turnout of about 50,000 visitors over the three-day event.

"Last year, the response was very encouraging and this prompted us to hold the event again this year," Tan said.

He said that customers have an advantage when they buy the products direct from the shops as they will know who to look for when they need after-sales service.

"If a customer were to buy a product at the participating booths in an exhibition hall, they may not know the actual location of the retail outlet," he said, adding that all the participants are tenants of the shopping mall.

"The ground floor will feature all the mobile phones and accessories, while the second and third floors will be where all the IT products are.

"There will also be special daily draws with LG handphones worth more than RM30,000 to be won.

"The draws will be held at 1pm, 5pm and 8pm," he said.

Besides the daily draws, Tan said, there will also be a "shop and win" promotion where shoppers who spend RM100 and above throughout the month of May at Digital Valley, will stand a chance to win prizes.

Seventy retail shops that are tenants of the Digital Valley are taking part in the IT Fair which ends Sunday.
