GOOD FOR BUSINESS: Using the same concept as Petaling Street, the bazaar in Jalan Sisi will enable traders to conduct business every night and for Muar folk to enjoy better deals

MUAR: THE Muar Municipal Council (MPM) will be holding a bazaar in Jalan Sisi in an effort to liven up the nightlife in Muar with commercial  activities.

Using the same concept as Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur, the bazaar will be open every night once it is completed at the end of the year.

It  will provide sheltered trading lots and pedestrian walkway for the convenience of shoppers.

MPM president Zulkiflee Abbas said:  "We have upgraded the lane from a normal lane to a sheltered one and the concept is the same as Petaling Street."

Zulkiflee did not reveal the cost of the project but said that once completed, the bazaar will become a tourist attraction for Muar.

He said at the moment, business activities at night are only confined to Uptown Muar that is operating at the bus station for three nights a week.

"With the bazaar, traders will be able to conduct business every night and the town will be more lively," said Zulkiflee.

He said the lane will still be accessible to vehicles even with the trading lots and pedestrian walkway.
