FAMILY BUSINESS: Mulia Collection supplies ready-made clothing and takes orders

JOHOR BARU: MOST of the  clothing at Mulia Collection  are designed and made by Misliha Keliwon and her staff.

Only a few items such as blouses and some tudung are sourced from suppliers.

"It is a family business and most of our clothing are designed by us.

"We  provide ready-made baju kurung and baju melayu. We also take orders from customers," said Misliha, who runs the business for her mother-in-law.

During  Ramadan, Misliha said  she and her staff would make as many clothes as possible to meet customer demand.

The store, which has been operating for 16 years, is on the first floor of the Larkin Market at the Larkin bus terminal.  She said its strategic location was a boon for  business.

Tudung are  the most popular items at the store. Misliha said many  bus passengers bought tudung on rainy days.

"Many drop by when their clothes are soaked in the rain," said Misliha.

Customers can find items priced from as low as RM1 and up to RM300.

She said the store would soon be renamed Busana Aliman to signify that it supplies Muslim clothing.
