    Health and fitness carnival attracts 1,000 participants

    KOTA TINGGI: The Jom D'Kota Health and Fitness carnival held at the Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim Hall here recently attracted more than 1,000 participants.

    The event, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, had a host of activities such as futsal, J-Robic sessions, poco-poco dance as well as a colouring contest and a lucky draw.

    The carnival was jointly organised by the Kota Tinggi member of parliament office, Kota Tinggi district council and the D'Kota sports and fitness club.

    The event was declared open by Kota Tinggi member of parliament, Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar.

    In his speech, Syed Hamid told the public to improve both their physical and mental health in order to have a better quality of life.

    "One must eat a well-balanced diet, practise good hygiene and learn to manage stress," he said.

    Meanwhile, Syed Hamid also urged the public to adopt a caring attitude so that there will be peace and security.
