    Hotel gives dates to less fortunate

    CHARITABLE: M Suites Hotel will give out premium dates to orphans, single mothers and the poor during Ramadan

      JOHOR BARU: M SUITES Hotel in  Straits View, Jalan Skudai, Johor Baru, is all out to make this Ramadan a memorable one.

        Hotel staff has been busy packing premium dates imported from Saudi Arabia  to be distributed to its clients and the  less fortunate during the holy month.

      "This is our way of giving back to . society. We have lines up several charity programmes during this period. The dates, for example, will be given to orphans, single mothers and the poor.

      "We have been packing the dates since last week. We order one tonne of premium dates every year for this purpose," said the hotel's general manager, Dev Singh.

      Outside the hotel, decorations of lighting were being set up,  with trees near the hotel's entrance decorated like Singapore's Orchard Road during festivities.

      "We want to  add colour to the celebration.  At the lobby, we will install similar lighting that change  its colour  at intervals. It will be  beautiful."

      A variety of dishes will be prepared for Ramadan from tomorrow until Aug 18 at Myra Bistro with the theme, Ramadan World.

      From traditional local cuisine to Western and the  Mediterranean,  people will be spoilt for choice dining at the bistro from 7pm to 9.30pm.

      The buffet spread is priced at RM68++ per adult, and RM30++ for children aged between 5 and 12.

      Dev said there would be more than 80 dishes, with menus rotated  daily.

      Among the dishes are  ayam hitam manis berkentang, rendang daging, wok-fried prawns with red dried chilli, and wok-fried sawi with garlic.

      A prayer room would be made available for guests to perform the terawih.

      An imam from Pattani, Thailand,  has been invited to lead the prayers every night.
