IRB opens service centre in Pontian

PONTIAN: The Inland Revenue Board's (IRB) branch here opened its Customer Service Centre to the public on June 1.

  The service centre is conveniently located  at 40, Jalan Delima 2, Pontian Commercial Centre where tax payers can carry out    transactions or  enquire about the department's services.

  The department's public relations officer Masrun Maslim said though the main objective of the service centre is to make it easier for property owners to pay stamp duties, the centre also serve tax payers.

 "For those staying in Kuantan, instead of travelling to our headquarters  in Johor Baru, enquiries can be done at the IRB service centre here," he said.

  For payments of stamp duty, transactions can be made between Mondays and Thursdays from 8am to 5pm. On Fridays, operation hours are between 8am and 11.45am.

The counters will be closed for Friday prayers and re-opened between 2.45pm and 3.30pm.
