Kampung Baru villagers want better facilities

KLUANG: Residents of Lorong Dua in Kampung Baru here are requesting that they are provided with the same facilities enjoyed by others in the jurisdiction of the Kluang Municipal Council.

Villager Farouk Ismail claims  the residents have been denied  some facilities and  problems there have yet to be solved.

He said  stagnated water in the drains due to improper drainage maintenance   forced them to live in an uncomfortable environment.

"The villagers  pay between RM80 to RM180 a year in assessment tax but  we feel we are not being provided with adequate facilities.

"The main problem we are facing now are clogged drains. We are also forking out our own money to pay for the electricity used for the street lights along Lorong Dua," he said.

Saim Tumin, 72, said the problem worsens when it rains as drain water will overflow into their homes.
