MEMORABLE:The friendly cat from Japan is spending the annual Mid-Autumn Festival with Malaysians

CALLING all fans of the Japanese animated cat Doraemon.

The blue robot cat and his human companion Nobita will be making an appearance for the first time in Johor.

This celebration will be Malaysia's largest  in honour of this beloved character and also for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The iconic Doraemon recently celebrated his 100 years pre-birth (he was born in the future) in spectacular fashion at the Johor Baru City Square on Sept 3 this year.

Brought in by Animation International (M) Sdn Bhd, this event is the first of its kind to be held here and also signifies the first time in Malaysia that the friendly cat is spending the annual Mid-Autumn Festival with Malaysians.

Recently, 100 children from Krista Johor Jaya Kindergarten from Johor Baru came to celebrate the occasion.

During the event, the children were given special goodie bags as well as commemorative Doraemon mooncakes.

Johor Baru City Square will be having a Doraemon and Nobita's meet-and-greet photo session this  Saturday and Sunday, as well as on Sept 29 and 30 at  1pm, 2pm, 5pm and 6pm.

Seize this chance to have a memorable time  with Doraemon and Nobita while enjoying an exhibition of Doraemon's story.

However, should you miss these sessions, there are still many photo opportunities  with an inflatable four-metre tall Doraemon.

For those who are eager to purchase some Doraemon memorabilia, just  spend a minimum of RM10 (for CS members) or RM20 (for non-CS members) in a single receipt  to purchase a memento at a special price.

Other activities held include a watercolouring competition and a sand art competition for all young ones to participate in.

There will also be drum performances on Sept 17 and 23 as well as "Guess & Win" sessions.

In addition to that, the Johor Baru City Square management will be presenting a selection of mooncakes from 19 exhibitors including Lavender, Seasons, SDS, The Baker's Cottage, Good Chen, Tian Je, Yong Sheng, Overseas, Tong Ah, Kam Lun Tai, Casahana, Foh San, Tai Thong, Loong Kee, Bee Cheng Hiang and others.
