AWFUL SMELL: Johor Baru Council urged to relocate rubbish collection point

Worshippers  at the Masjid India here are complaining about the stench coming from a  rubbish collection point in front of the mosque.

Syafie Ramli, 42, said food traders and hawkers in the area would throw  rubbish  there at night.

"Packs of stray dogs would come to look  for food. It gets worse when it rains because the stench would reach the mosque," he said.

Another worshipper, Suhaimi Abu Bakar, 38, said the   location should not be used as a rubbish collection point   because it was near the mosque's entrance.

He said the mosque and its surroundings should be kept clean because they reflected the image of Islam.

"The city council should  relocate the rubbish dump to another  place."
