JOHOR BARU: Some 200 representatives of Johor-based businesses recently attended the one-day Printworks Newspaper Expo, here, to get better informed on product exposure and market reach.

Organised by New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, the  interactive marketing expo was held at the Thistle Hotel.

Johor Baru is the final destination of the expo which kicked off in Kuala Lumpur on July 9, followed by Penang on July 16.

The participants who were from various sectors, including services, manufacturing and property development, obtained information and advice on how to keep up with the dynamic advertising marketplace.

NSTP advertisement department regional senior manager (central and south) Abd Ghani Ahamad, and his staff  welcomed the  participants.

The expo, which is in its sixth year, is designed to introduce the benefits of print and online advertising through the  New Straits Times, Berita Harian and Harian Metro newspapers.

Participants were also offered a series of expo-exclusive advertising packages created by NSTP. These special packages represented substantial savings off NSTP's regular rate card.

During the seminar, business owners and managers were given an insight into proven newspaper marketing strategies, had a newspaper campaign specifically tailored to their business needs and found out more about NSTP's free professionally-produced ads.

Participants were able to experience first-hand  how NSTP came up with  advertising models and benefits.

Participants  had a one-on-one consultation with  marketing executives to discuss their business and marketing goals and how to achieve them through advertising.

A creative team was on hand to produce  free advertisements for companies that purchased a package.

NSTP regional and public sector general manager Zulkarnain Abd Talib said the yearly expo was  a popular platform for new businesses, especially  small- and medium-sized enterprises  and  small-medium industries.

"Besides offering special rates to our existing, new and  prospective clients, the expo is also a platform for our staff to network with the business owners," he said.

"We are also promoting our digital media platforms as the online presence is touted as the future for us."
