JOHOR BARU: The reason for the mysterious popularity of a reflexology centre in Taman Sentosa with young patrons was revealed when it turned out to be a brothel.

The ruse was exposed after it was raided by the police's vice, gangs and gambling division from Johor Baru Selatan.
The centre is fitted with an automatic door and only those who are known or have made bookings are allowed entry.
During the raid, five Chinese nationals aged between 20 and 30, who had been previously arrested for prostitution, were detained.
Three clients aged between 20 and 40, who were making their picks, were also arrested.
Johor Baru Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Zainuddin Yaacob said efforts would be intensified to detect prostitution.
"We will be more aware of the syndicates' actions and will continue to carry out operations to eradicate prostitution.
"The women arrested are being investigated under Section 372(B) of the Penal Code for offering prostitution services," said Zainuddin.
