PASIR GUDANG: Fifty-nine Year Six pupils from SJKT Ladang Lambak and SJKT Pasir Gudang took part in a Bahasa Malaysia workshop as part of preparations for the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR).
They listened to a talk on the correct methods to answer the questions, and learnt to use BH's Didik pullout to improve their proficiency in the language.
Kluang Tuition Centre principal Dr A. Elanthavan said his mastery of the language was the result of reading Malay newspapers like BH.
"If the pupils use the Didik pullout as a reference, it would not be impossible for them achieve good results in the UPSR," he said after the workshop at SJKT Ladang Lambak.
The school headmaster A. Pugunasvari said 18 of the workshop participants were from his school and the rest from SJKT Pasir Gudang.
"This is the first time the school is holding the programme. It is the initiative of the Parent-Teacher Association, whose members naturally want the students to do well in the UPSR.
"We focused on Bahasa Malaysia because some students are weak in the subject," Pugunasvari said.
