HOT ITEMS: Branded goods from the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe will soon be available when the Kollektion Haus store opens

JOHOR BARU: FOR those looking for quality  kitchen appliances,  be on the lookout for Kollektion Haus (KH),  an outlet selling an assortment of kitchen items from the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.

It will open later this month.

The store, at 49-G Jalan Mutiara Emas 10/19, Taman Mount Austin, was officially launched by Kollektion Distribution Sdn Bhd executive director Vincent Chew recently.

The Petaling Jaya-based Kollektion Distribution is the parent company of KH.

The KH outlet in Johor Baru is the first  to be set up by the company. Chew said three more stores would be  opening soon in Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur.

In his speech at the launch, Chew said Johor Baru was chosen  as the  first KH store due to  the city folk's increasing spending power.

He said JB folk were acquiring a taste for safe and quality household items. The company chose the state capital due to its booming economy as a result of the Iskandar Malaysia growth corridor.

Refrigerators, freezers, ovens with hobs and hoods, washing machines, dryers, garment steamers, hairdryers and irons are among the items for sale at the store.

The brand names of the products include Lebensstil Kollektion (LK), General Electric, GE Moniogram, Gaggia, Princess, Indesit and Russell Hobbs.

Lebensstil Kollektion products use German technology   for practical functionality.

In German, the brand name means "lifestyle collection".

LK products range from kitchen appliances to hygiene products.

To  reach out to consumers more effectively, Chew said KH would soon set up the K.IDS Club, a special programme for  enthusiasts of interior design.

Also present at the launch, was Chef Zam, who hosts a TV cooking show.

Zam, whose full name is Zamzani Abdul Wahab, prepared four mouthwatering dishes, namely Asian muffin, cream puff with durian, mionet prawn soup and spaghetti Asian pastro.

As soon as Zam completed the dishes, guests made a beeline for his food.

Zam  used  KH appliances such as mixers, ovens and gas stoves to prepare his dishes.

"These products may be expensive, but they are excellent and worth it,"  said Zam, who is also the managing director of Silverspoon International College based in Puchong, Selangor.

The KH store will open from 10.30am to 7.30pm daily, except on public holidays.

For more information, call Chew at 012-216 7588, Audrey Wong at 019-354 7654, or Wyvern Low at 019-713 0212.
