LIFT YOUR SPIRITS: The treament is designed to heal and relax your body with time-tested methods used by trained therapists
JOHOR BARU: UPON arriving at the lift landing of Level 5 at Danga City Mall in Johor Baru, one can already get the scent of citrus wafting through the air, so finding the entrance to the d'Rebung Spa is not a problem.
The spa, which opened in November last year, is a holistic wellness centre that offers various treatments.
Its proprietor Rohani Saad said there is a huge difference between a beauty centre and a wellness centre.
"At a beauty centre, the objective is to help enhance the external appearance using beauty products that may contain chemicals and show instance results.
"But at a spa, specifically at d' Rebung Spa, which is a wellness centre, we treat you internally using only natural herbal products. This shows results in the long run," she said.
Rohani also said some people go to beauty centres as they want to see immediate results, while at wellness centres, the results can take time to manifest, although you will feel better immediately.
Rohani, who has more than 20 years of experience in the wellness industry, opened the spa, as she strongly believes that wellness is a lifestyle, not a luxury like many people perceive.
The d'Rebung Spa is adorned with bamboo walls and execudes calm.
The fully air-conditioned spa, has a consultation room, where the therapist conducts an analysis based on their clientele's health condition, before recommending suitable treatments.
At d'Rebung, treatments are designed to heal, rejuvenate and optimise one's body through traditional, time-tested methods by trained therapists, using only natural products.
Thus, its important to understand one's habits and behaviours such as nutrition, exercise, alcohol and tobacco consumption as well as stress levels.
Some of the treatments available here include facials, body massages, scrubs, masks and hot-wrap treatments.
There are also packages such as the Spa Escape package and the Couple's Spa Getaway, among others.
Using only natural herbal products that are made from concentrated botanical extracts from plants, herbs and algae, Rohani highly recommends the Renew Me facial treatment which is priced at RM70 for one hour.
The product and massage technique used, help exfoliates and refresh the skin.
This treatment is suitable for normal skin.
Those with dry skin should opt for the Nourish Me package, priced at RM75 for an hour of deep moisturising treatment.
Alternatively, customers can also opt for the Indulge Me package, which is an 80 minute-session of any facial of choice.
For body massage, there is the d' Rebung signature massage which is priced at RM75 for one hour and RM110 for 90 minutes.
The signature massage is actually an improvised version of the traditional Malay massage, where pressure is put on the muscles and veins, helping to improvise blood circulation while relaxing the muscles.
In addition to this, there are also other types of massage such as the Swedish, Aroma and Back Massage that are priced between RM40 and RM80 for an hour's session.
Body treatments such as the Rose Secret salt scrub and Lavender Touch scrub, are both priced at RM55 for a 40-minute session.
This treatment helps in exfoliating, moisturising and brightening skin.
