JOHOR BARU: BE spoilt for choice when shopping for Hari Raya cookies and traditional snacks at Nahar Power Sdn Bhd at Plaza Angsana in Johor Baru.

It has over 40 types of cookies for sale.

A popular choice is the blueberry almond cookies.

Blueberry jam and a specially-concocted cream are spread on  the cookies, which are then sprinkled with a generous amount of almond flakes.

They're so tasty that customers find them addictive.

There is also a strawberry variant of this cookie.

The lovely semperit cookie is  a modern version of the semperit.

Strawberry jam is spread on the cookie and sprinkled with crunchy almond bits.

The crispy, coconut coffee cookies are deliciously crunchy with a generous amount of chocolate rice and grated coconut topping them.

Coffee-lovers will love these cookies which have a strong aroma of coffee.

The walnut oat cookies come  with a generous amount of walnuts, raw oats and cornflakes in them. Chocolate chips add to their flavour.

Nahar Power Sdn Bhd managing director Mohd Naharudin Isa said his wife, Muzaianah Said, is behind the new range of cookies.

"Besides traditional cookies, we need to come up with new ones to attract new customers," he said.

All-time favourites such as  pineapple tarts and rolls, red cherry chocolate chip and London almond cookies are also available.

The traditional offerings include dodol, kuih bangkit, bahulu, layer cake, rempeyek, tumpi and putu kacang.

"All of my products are homemade.

"My recipes have remained the same over the years.

"When I do make a recipe change, it is to enhance the taste, and never to substitute a premium ingredient  for a cheaper one for the sake of profit," he said.
