The Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) Johor Baru is presenting two shows at Jotic Auditorium in Jalan Ayer Molek in Johor Baru at 8pm on June 29 and 7.30pm on June 30.
K. Sunil, 32, one of the 11 vocalists in the two-hour concert, said the show was the first of its kind in Johor Baru as it will feature carnatic ragas in cine hits.

Students from TFA Johor Baru will perform in a choir as back-up to the 11 principal singers.
Popular Johor Baru-based singer Susan Joseph has been invited to perform as a special guest artiste.
"The concert will have the carnatic section and the film section. One section will perform a song, and the other will peform the same song carnatic-style, so that the audience will see the connection between film music and carnatic ragas.
Sunil explained that a carnatic raga consisted of an ascending and descending scale pattern similar to "Do Re Mi". It has several components -- "na-da" (primordial sound), "swara" (tonal system) and "gamaka" (ornaments), among others.
"A carnatic raga is classical South Indian music that emerged in the 14th or 15th century that is still very popular today.
"However, not many are aware that film music have carnatic ragas in the composition.
"This concert aims to provide insight into that connection.
"The audience will be taken on an interactive journey by the performance.
"We want to preserve the heritage of carnatic music and make it more accessible to music lovers," he added.
