BATU PAHAT: The Johor-level Innovation Programme 2012 was launched recently to encourage new ideas and innovations among the younger generation.

  The programme is  a nationwide effort to encourage  creative youths to come forward with their ideas.

  Johor Unity, Human Resources, Science, Technology and Innovations Committee chairman M. Asojan said the programme was also being held in conjunction with the Johor Science, Technology and ICT Week 2012 being held until June  25 at the Persada Convention Centre.

  "The objective of the  ICT Week 2012  is to test the capability, creativity, innovation and  imagination of the younger generation, especially students."

  Present were Parit Sulong member of parliament Datuk Noraini Ahmad, Malaysian Innovation Foundation acting chief executive officer Mohd Aziph Mustapha and ICT Johor director Tengku Zaharah Tengku Osman.

  A convoy of 20 four-wheel drive vehicles and 50 motorcycles will  go on a road show.

  "We have lined-up a host of activities, including competitions with exciting prizes to be given away," said   Asojan.
