CUTE: Dressed in colourful costumes, they entertain their parents with charming performances

IPOH: FORTY-ONE children showcased their singing talents during a "Parent's Day-cum-Children's Karaoke Day" held at the Ipoh City & Country Club (ICCC) recently.

The children, aged four to 12 years old, were dressed-up according to their selected theme songs.

Some were dressed like opera singers, kung fu fighters, artistes and cartoon characters among others.

An excellent performer was Ling Chee Yang, 11, who did a mask-changing act and sang a song while the red maiden opera singer Lim Hui Yi, also 11, sang a Mandarin number Door Step to Love.

Similarly, the Alishan tribe impersonator Lim Chen Chuen, 8, delivered a Taiwanese song The Lady of Alishan.

Another budding singer was colourfully attired Canny Chong, 8, who sang a fast number, Happy Days.

The youngest performer was Tan Yee Qian, 6, who attracted the crowd with her patch doll dress.

Yee Qian, came with her father Tan Gin Foo and mother Yeoh Suan Ching to celebrate Parent's Day.

Lastly, the U-Me Dance team also presented traditional dances entitled "Pretty Maiden" and "Picking Tea Leaves" to an audience of 500.

ICCC group manager Ricky Khong said that the event was for families to celebrate Parents Day and to provide a platform for their children to showcase their singing talents.
